So today I had my first mentor meeting with Drew! We talked a little about what work I've done so far in terms of planning and what my final product is going to be. We decided that by the end of next week I should be signed up for the beginners sewing class at sew green which is from 6-8pm for the first 3 tuesdays in March. The class costs 75$ but my mom is going to support me in that area. Within the next two weeks the plan is to own a sewing machine. At this point in time I'm planning on finding a used machine and making it my own. We decided that 2 weeks was a good deadline for this because it's important that I invest in a machine that is actually going to be able to do what I want it to. It's clear that I need to send out a few more emails and get in touch with my friend Nancy as well within these next 2 weeks. Track starts on Monday and I can tell that my time management skills are going to be tested right from the start! As for my final product, well I decided that not having a specific outfit was best because I really want to see what I can get out of theses classes. I think this was a good meeting and I'm glad that I've set some goals to reach within a time period, I can tell that setting goals is going to be a big help in my success as well.
All in all it was a good day!
Now I'm off to bus tables at The Antlers Restaurant. YAY
